Erin’s Approach

Born and raised in the Portland metro area, Erin incorporates fun and authenticity into her clinical practice. As a highly sensitive person with a passion for integrating trauma-informed practices across all systems of care, empathy is the driving force behind Erin’s work. Erin draws eclectically from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, experiential therapy, existentialism, internal family systems, somatic techniques, polyvagal theory, positive disintegration, and creative appraoches with a genuine hope that each person she works with will recognize and believe in their intrinsic potential for healing while pursuing the paradoxical journey of self-actualization and intentionally confronting obstructions with gentleness and grace along the way.

About Erin

Pronouns: she/her/they/them

Having recognized the potentially detrimental impacts of trauma at an early age, Erin was inspired to obtain her degree in social work from Portland State University with a focus on Practice and Leadership in Communities and Organizations. Following licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor I, Erin completed training through Fluence for Psilocybin Assisted Therapy. Erin specializes in working with folks who have a history of substance use through a compassionate, harm reduction framework despite being well-versed in the subculture of 12-step programs. Her experience spans over 20 years and includes peer support, non-profit work, serving on government boards, working in schools, working with inpatient and outpatient cooccurring mental health and substance use programs, and interning with Trauma Informed Oregon. As a result of her work in treatment centers and being a survivor of innumerable losses through the opioid epidemic, Erin discovered her niche for working with folks in the world of recovery.
